1. Who is responsible for your data

Paws&Beaks, trading address 26A Bloomgate, Lanark, ML11 9ET, is the data controller for personal data collected through this website. You can contact us at hello@pawsbeaks.com. You can also use our contact form.

2. What we collect

• Order details: your name, delivery and billing address, email address, phone number and the items you order.
• Messages: anything you send us through the contact form or the question form on the FAQs page.
• Newsletter: your email address if you subscribe.
• Payment: card payments are handled by our payment provider. We receive confirmation of payment but never your full card number.
• Basket: your basket is stored in your own browser so it is still there when you come back. It is not sent to us until you check out.

3. Why we use it and our legal basis

• To take, deliver and support your order. Legal basis: performing our contract with you.
• To reply to your messages. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering enquiries, or steps you asked us to take before a contract.
• To keep accounting and tax records. Legal basis: legal obligation.
• To send marketing emails. Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time using the link in every email.
• To keep the site secure and prevent fraud. Legal basis: our legitimate interests.

4. Who we share it with

We share only what is needed with our payment provider, delivery couriers, hosting and email providers, and our accountants. They act on our instructions or as separate controllers under their own privacy policies. We do not sell your data.

5. Cookies and local storage

This site uses only essential storage: your basket is kept in your browser's local storage. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. If we add analytics later, we will ask for your consent first and update this page.

6. How long we keep it

We keep order records for six years for tax and accounting purposes. Messages are kept for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and any follow-up. Newsletter details are kept until you unsubscribe.

7. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its use, and receive a copy in a portable format. Where we rely on consent you can withdraw it at any time. To use any of these rights, contact us. We will respond within one month.

8. Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, please contact us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

9. Changes

We may update this policy and will change the date at the top when we do.
